National Cross Country Relays

The squad failed to pick up any medals this year but still worked hard to pick up 8th spot in a quality field of runners. Many athletes struggled around the tough Cumbernauld 4k course.

Lanarkshire Road Relays

Cambuslang A Team 1st, Shettleston A 2nd, Law AC 3rd, Cambuslang B 4th, Shettleston B 5th.

Shettleson A Team:
Leg one (Paul Sorrie) Leg two (Stephen Matthews) Leg three (kenny Mccoy) Leg four (Stuart)

Shettleston B Team:
Leg one (Martin Graham) Leg two (Billy) Leg three (Robert Soutar) Leg four (Marc McColl)

A solid performance by Shettleston A team ensured silver on Saturday but a fast 4th leg from Alistair Russell of Law and District AC prevented Marc from making any serious ground despite pulling Alistair back to within a few seconds he quickly stepped up a gear on the home straight with Greig Hastie of Cambuslang in quick pursuit.

More info and pictures will no doubt follow....

West District XC Relays

Took place in Irvine beach park. Avoided the famous Dragon's Back but plenty of
other sting in the tails around the course. Twisty and undulating.

Next race is the Lanarkshire Relays and we hope to have a good squad for this one.

(left to right): Andy Little puts in another tough shift, Marc McColl holding off Law AC
and finally Chris finishing strong in the junior U17 race.

(Left to Right): Gordon looking smooth, Kenny doing the business, Billy putting in a
strong performance, Peter working as hard as ever. well done.

(Left to right): Dennis was the surprise performance on the day, Mark Mckelvie
making a good debut on the country with the senior men. Stephen Matthews rose
to the pressure this weekend.

Thanks to Kenny Philips for the photos once again !

Italiano !!!!

"Glasgow's S**e" screamed Benji as we sped off towards Millport, only for him to moan about the heating in the car, feeling hungry etc and assessing the Scottish Women. He reckons the Italian Women are sexier.
A good weekend to round things off.

Pietro (above left) has a personal best of 2hrs 32 for the marathon and 70 min for a half, Pietro doesnt like to hang around, as Dave Miller soon found out and ended up running with him for the first 2 miles.
Benji has a personal best of 8.30 for 3000m, currently injured and on his way back to fitness.
Well done guys, hopefully Iain and I will see you lot soon !

George Cummings Road Relays

Initial tester to see who's on form for the cross country season. I ran well for leg three
almost pulling in Cambuslang who will be back on form for the Mcandrews.
Stephen Matthews complained as usual about having to run on his own, but still ran
a fast time. Main thing was we all ran well.

(Left to right):Iain powers round leg 3 for B team, Steph works hard on leg 4,
I suffer in the last 1/2 mile)

(Left to right): Billy looks comfortable in his leg, Dave shows us some flying lessons,
Hitman picks them off easily and Paul puts in another sterling performance)

(Left to right): Roberto keeps hism an in sight on leg one, Andy focuses hard,
Ken keeps level with Irvine)

Mcandrew Relays

Iain pulled out the team late with a cold but I decided to run through mine anyway, still ran well enough despite feeling light headed. Steph ran well first leg and Martin is on his way back.

We'll be back 100% for next week at the West Districts.
